While I was reading "Paid Maternity Leave for both Parents" I did agree with a lot of the statements made. The author made a great point when stating "According to the World Health Organization, the minimum amount of time a woman needs to fully recover from giving birth is 16 weeks." Which is a good argument, and how are you going to allow a mother who has not fully recovered back to the job. While I believe it would be amazing to give the mother a full paycheck at the end of the day the company still has to make money and now you are paying an employee who is not working at all and contributing. There are always going to be that issue. while the military allows mothers who are pregnant and servicing to still receive there full paycheck. So there are always ways to help the mother. Even if the company allowed half her paycheck to be received would be a great deal of help. 

 As far as the fathers believe it is essential for them to be there for the mother and newborn. the author states "he should be allowed at least 4 weeks of paid leave." I couldn't agree more. This will help aid the recovery of the mother and help the father have that paternal bond. According to millitary.com, even the army is taking steps to help fathers with 21 days of leave which is all paid. If the military is taking steps to help fathers I believe that corporations should too.  

 The author made strong arguments and brought up an issue often talked about a great blog.

I am responding to " Trump Repeats Idea of Buying Greenland " which is an interesting topic about buying something that is not for sale. It never amazes me our president seems to be doing. which I don't know if it would just be a stroke of his ego to purchase a country, or if he actually is saying it would be useful for the United States to have a military presence. This article did a good job of leaving me on the hook and I find myself wanting to know more. I am unsure if not taking no for answer is a good thing or just being disrespectful to other countries if they are repeatedly telling you, no, but then again American was built on many people saying no and the founders taking it anyways. Overall the article is interesting and I am curious to see what happens.

Death To Capital Punishment.

I believe the United States should stop the use of capital punishment. According to  PBS  "The first death sentence historically recorded occurred in 16th Century BC Egypt where the wrongdoer, a member of the nobility, was accused of magic and ordered to take his own life. During this period non-nobility was usually killed with an ax." The Human race regardless of ethnicity or beliefs has evolved from the primitive thought we once had. We should change our punishment system to follow how civilized humanity has become. Even for such vile crimes like murder. What would be worse for a criminal then life without a chance of freedom? Not to mention the cost of how much it takes to support the death penalty. The California Legislative Analyst's office estimates that California would save $150 million a year if it replaced the death penalty with a sentence of life without parole.
